Graduating with distinction from Buckinghamshire College in 1989 and subsequently winning several awards for my work led me to a short spell working with Martin Grierson in London, before establishing my first workshop in Amersham in 1990.

Since then I have steadily grown my team, moved to our current workshop and continued to produce fine contemporary furniture to commission.

http://www.richardwilliamsfurniture.com/images/tables.jpg We are proud that our work has attracted many accolades, including eight Guildmark awards from the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers, and most notably the Claxton-Stevens Award in 1995.

In 2003 I was extremely thrilled to be awarded an honourary Master of Arts Degree by Buckingamshire Chilterns Universty College for ‘exceptional achievements in furniture design and cabinetmaking’. I continue to lecture at the university, and also have links with London Metropolitan University, Rycotewood College and the University of Central Lancashire. The team:
