A major two-week exhibition of contemporary furniture featuring the work of some of the north of England’s top makers and designers held in the Derbyshire Peak District this summer. Northern Contemporary Furniture Makers, a group of independent designer-makers, will exhibit at Arcaz, from July 11th to July 27th, coinciding with the Buxton Festival.

Art in Action 2008

Art in Action is held in the beautiful grounds of Waterperry House, near Oxford. It makes a great day out for the whole family. Highly recommended!
This year more than 400 artists, designer-makers, musicians, performers and teachers will come together over four days to present a magnificent spectacle of the arts.
Watch artists demonstrate Calligraphy, Ceramics, Drawing, Glass, Illustration, Jewellery, Metalwork, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Silversmithing, Textiles and Woodwork. Many of the demonstrating artists are eminent in their field.
Artists come to Art in Action, set-up their studios in marquees, and work. Visitors can get close, observe, ask questions and gain an insight into the magical creative process.
There are Practical Classes for adults and children with over 3000 places and 20 subjects to choose from, most cost as little as £5 per session.
Music, dance, lectures and wine tasting ensure there is something for everyone at Art in Action. Visitors can wander in the gardens of Waterperry House and picnic on the spacious lawns.

Devon Furniture Makers 4th Annual Exhibition

The Devon Furniture Makers Association was formed to promote the work of professional furniture makers operating throughout Devon. Each year we stage an exhibition of our work and this, our fourth year, we will be showing at "The Gallery at Dartington College of Arts" from August 1st - 10th. The Gallery is on the grounds of the beautiful Dartington Hall estate, near Totnes. Dartington Estate is an impressive setting and well worth a visit, so please do come and see our work. The exhibition is sponsored by Bridge Motorcycles of Exeter.

A Carpenter's Tale
Furniture maker Jeremy Broun is giving an illustrated lecture plus musical performance at Abbotsholme School where he was educated and his passion for woodwork and design fired. The talk includes early influences and travels to Scandinavia.

The Decorex exhibition provides professional interior designers, retailers, architects and hotel designers with a beautifully edited selection of the most innovative and aspirational suppliers including fabrics and wallcoverings, furniture, lighting, floorcoverings, accessories and bespoke services.
On for four days only from 21st - 24th September 2008 in the unique surroundings of the Christopher Wren designed Royal Hospital Chelsea, London, all exhibitors are selected to ensure that only the highest quality products and the best of what is new in interior design is shown.
